Responsibilities
• Perform logical and physical data modeling, design relational database models and create physical data models from logical data models.
• Oversee Implementation of physical databases.
• Design Oracle databases servers and interfaces to improve database and application performance.
• Communicate with internal technical, applications, and operational staff, and appropriate, in order to design an optimal database architecture (performance, accessibility, backup, and recovery plan).
• Assist development staff with application design and efficient use of Oracle9i and installed options such as RAC and Data Guard.
• Prepare and monitor project plans and schedules for significant database related implementation and support efforts.

Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years professional Information Technology experience.
• Minimum of 2 years Oracle Database administration in Unix environment for a real time system.
• Experience designing Unix servers for database performance.
• Experience networking within an Oracle environment.
• Hands on experience with Oracle8i or Oracle 9i.
• Experience programming and performance tuning using SQL and PL/SQL.
• Excellent knowledge of operating systems, machine organization, systems design and management.
• Experience with Oracle Designer is a plus.
